It gives me great pleasure to introduce the
extension of our department’s outreach for the community through the web space,
the www.PhotoFSSR.com.
Alongside, the photography department of UiTM (FSSR) plays as an integral part
of the Art & Design Faculty, for the undergraduate degree and diploma programme
by which the students undertake their studies on lifestyle and the arts of
distinctive communities in Malaysia with the goal of placing art and creativity
within context, intrinsic towards the harmony of socio-economic cultural
lifestyle and belief systems through photographic imageries.
While the results of these will necessarily take some years to be known as the
fast changing pace of digital era within the their practice, this will require
the urgent need of updating those new and innovative knowledge to document
without sacrificing their own of artistic manifestation, with a sensitive
perceptive eye before distinctive identities of communities. Cinematography and
photography plays as significant methods of doing this. This department has
initiated the degree program through projects and activity involvements with
full strength assisted by innovative staffs and other lecturers that made this
department alive.
By having at a constant enraptured by the quality of the photographs through the
sensitivity of the eye, the sympathy of the heart, that runs and captured
through the lens, the strength and joys would be endless with photography. For
me, photography forms as a great quality and also as art, in which, respectively
stands on its own. The art of judging human characters, the physiognomy of the
faces, the freshness and vitality of youth and, the tensionless wrinkles from
the old ripening age reflects an inner harmony which will, no doubt, be lost
without a represented idea of that image.
It is hoped that the www.PhotoFSSR.com is an extension outreach to serve,
educate and delight our readers. I would like to express my gratitude to our
lecturers, supporting staff, and gracious gesture of our students, and
not-forgotten Alumnis whom made this place an avenue of imaging creativity.
